An ultra is a peak that rises at least 1,500 meters, about 4,900 feet, above the lowest saddle linking it to any higher ground. Iran has fifty-five, from Damavand in the Alborz range to the desert volcanoes of the southeast. Damavand is the country's high point and the highest volcano in Asia.
